Sunil Sigdel live in a cosmopolitan urban world and my concept of art is about getting back to my roots. Nevertheless, I celebrate the contradictions of our urban reality with wit and satire. In my work, I fuse traditional aesthetics with contemporary visuals and attitudes. My works are frontal and layered, where I incorporate traditional icons with personal and political imagery. I explore multi-layered imagery similar to a tattoo artist, depicting layers of images collaged together, like the past and the present, personal and political, local and global.
