In my artistic career I am never satisfied with a particular medium. I therefore worked and experimented with various mediums. In Kala Bhavana there is scope for work with different mediums. I have utilized that opportunity and worked with various mediums like painting, drawing, print making, mural design, terracotta, bronze casting, lacquer toy making etc. and hence enjoyed a lot. My teachers guided me and encouraged me to carry on this process. Their encouragement made it possible to find my own self. I am mainly a figurative artist. Therefore drawing is one of my favourite mediums. When I draw I try to work less and give maximum spontaneous expression. Black ink and brush strokes help me to achieve this goal. In this direction I get the inspiration from the artworks of the great artists of the Santiniketan School.
My paintings are done in tempera process on mounted Nepali paper .This is my favourite medium and I am constantly experimenting on this medium to explore more and more effects. Sculptures Of Ramkinkar Beij , murals of Nandalal Bose and Binode Behari Mukherjee in and around the campus and nature studies of these artists has great impact on my works. Their works encouraged me to imagine and think about making images with lots of freedom and pleasure. I am thankful to them and convey my regards.
