Swapan Nayak (b. 1965) is an independent photographer based in Kolkata, India. He Started working professionally in 1995 and has sincecarried out a number of editorial assignments for both national and international publications.The National Foundation for Indiaawarded him the National Media Fellowship in 2002-2003 and in 2006 he received the NirmaanPhotography Fellowship. For the period of 2009-2011, The Ministry of Culture, Govt. of Indiaalso honored Nayak with the National Senior Fellowship in visual art(photography).
Since 2007 to 2019 he was associated with ‘TASVEER’, the gallery in India dedicated to photography and promotes photography as an art.They have held Nayak’s three main Pan-India solo exhibitions ‘Nowhere People’ in 2008, ‘Being and Nothingness’ in2011 and ‘Radha-Love in eternity ’ in 2016.
